Central Heating

From April 2005 new regulations came into force regarding the efficiency of central heating systems especially the boiler, with the exception of Scotland all boilers installed should be sedbuk rates “A” or “B”.

All new heating and replacement systems have to meet these standards they vary slightly depending on whether a combination or regular boiler is used. The main features are high efficiency boilers (condensing), boiler interlocking control, some type of time control and thermostatic radiator valves.

The above also applies when replacing a boiler, the entire system has to be upgraded to the minimum standards.  Local building control have to be notified of all work undertaken when new heating or a replacement boiler is installed. This can be done on the customers behalf via the gas work notification scheme operated by Gas Safe.

  • Flue gas analysis
  • System additions and upgradesEnergy efficient controls
